GYBA Competitive Feeder Team Tryouts

Tryout Schedule

7th Grade Boys:    9:30 AM – 11:00 AM
8th Grade Boys:  11:30 AM – 1:00 PM
7th Grade Girls:    1:30 PM – 3:00 PM

Please arrive 20 minutes before your scheduled tryout.

Tryouts are MANDATORY for all players who want to be considered for a GYBA Competitive Feeder Team.

If your player is not interested in this level of play and/or cannot fulfill the commitments outlined below, please DO NOT attend this session. GYBA Winter League registration will be available separately for players interested in our traditional program.

Online Tryout Registration is required prior to Sunday, August 30th.

Parent and Player Commitment

Competitive Feeder Teams are intended for players interested in a higher level of competitive basketball and in preparing to play basketball at Golden High School.

PARTICIPATION: Teams include expanded practices and skill-development sessions, as well as competitive league play, which may include the Jeffco/JPS Winter League, Gold Crown Competitive League, and additional tournaments. Participation in all team activities is expected.

FINANCIAL: Families are responsible for GYBA registration fees, applicable league fees, uniform costs, and potential tournament expenses.

TEAM: The season generally runs from late October through late February/early March. Teams typically practice two to three times per week for approximately 90 minutes, with possible weekend skill sessions. Games may be held on weekdays and weekends.

COMMITMENT: Players selected for a GYBA Competitive Feeder Team are not permitted to play for another basketball organization or club team while participating on a GYBA Competitive Feeder Team during the winter season.

Individual Player "Need a Team" Registration - Winter 2026

Need a Team – Individual Player Registration

This registration is for individual players who are not currently part of an existing team and need GYBA's help finding a team for the upcoming season.

If your player already has a team, do NOT register here. Your Head Coach will send you a direct email invitation to register with that team.

Players who register through “Need a Team”:
• Will be placed on a team with an available roster spot whenever possible.
• May be grouped with other players if GYBA is able to identify a Head Coach and form a new team.
• Are not guaranteed placement, as team availability depends on coaches, roster space, grade level and other factors.

GYBA will work to place as many players as possible and will communicate team information once placement is determined.

Team Registration – Head Coaches Only - Winter 2026

This registration is for Head Coaches who already have a team and want to register that team with GYBA.

This is NOT an individual player registration.

Once a team is registered, the Head Coach will invite players on the roster to complete their individual GYBA registration. Players will receive a registration invitation directly by email.
