Participation Levels

There are five (5) levels of participation within GYBA. These levels generally correspond with the levels within the two leagues in which GYBA currently participates, JeffCo (A/B/C) and Gold Crown (Gold/Silver).

  • Gold Team:   Participates in Gold Crown Gold & JeffCo Gold (if no JeffCo Gold Division, then A at the next age group up – i.e. 6th graders would play 7th A for JeffCo)
  • Silver Team:   Participates in Gold Crown Silver & JeffCo Gold (if no JeffCo Gold Division, then A at the next age group up – i.e. 6th graders would play 7th A for JeffCo)
  • A Team(s):  Participates in JeffCo A
  • B Team(s):  Participates in JeffCo B
  • C Team(s):  Participates in JeffCo C or B (if no C Division is formed)

The determination as to which level each team will be classified is based on the evaluation of the coaches and GYBA board members through the tryout process. The goal is to have every team play at the highest level in which they can have fun, enjoy success and develop as basketball players.
